NOTE: the ruffled belt pictured is NOT included with this dress - that's an extra accessory sold by BHLDN.
My wedding plans changed, so I'm now selling the Catherine Deane dress I purchased from BHLDN, (an Anthropologie company.)
This dress has never been worn to any event. It has not been altered at all - it is completely original. I had it examined by a wedding dress tailor when I first purchased it, and they said it would be extremely easy to shorten the skirt length and straps, if needed. The tailor also said it would be doable to add a bustle to the train - you could wear the train long for your ceremony, and then button it up for your reception, if you wanted to. The dress also comes in it's original bag with hanger.
This dress is actually really comfortable - I bought it for an outdoor setting because it breathes and is easy to walk/dance in. I've never felt the need to wear a bra with it - the cups are lightly padded and supportive. When I first bought it I was a small B cup - after getting breast implants and becoming a C cup, the dress still fit. The waist of this dress is in a natural, flattering place, and the flowy skirt feels nice because it's not restrictive around the low abdomen at all. I think the style of this dress is very unique - I haven't really seen any other dress in the same style.
The web describes the dress like this:
"At once structured and freeform, seemingly infinite layers of asymmetrical wisps spill below a structured bodice. Over 15 meters of fluid silk chiffon clothe its tulle petticoat, giving this gown a soft, voluminous feel. A Catherine Deane original. Hidden back zip. Professionally clean.
• This silhouette is fitted through the bodice. For best fit, size to the curvier of your bust and waist measurements.
• Can be shortened; using an experienced bridal tailor is recommended
• Boning and underwire bust cups
• Silk shell
• Silk and tulle petticoat
